I started my career in education in Georgia where I taught  6 years before moving to Alabama. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Masters of Education and Education Specialist degree in elementary education from Georgia Southern University. I hold certification in Supervision and Educational Administration from Auburn University in Montgomery.  I earned National Board certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist in 2004 and recertified in 2014.   My most recent position was serving as a Mentoring Supervisor for new teachers in Elmore County. Prior to that position, I served ten years as a Middle School Curriculum Supervisor in Elmore County. I also worked one year as a resource teacher/ supervisor for paraprofessionals and one year for the Alabama State Department of Education as a PEER assistant. During that time I assisted a school not making adequate yearly progress according to No Child Left Behind. I also served as a third through seventh grade classroom teacher for twenty years. Two exciting accomplishments during my tenure were co-authoring a book entitled “Voices of the Boycott” and receiving a professional development scholarship to China.

My husband, Gary, and I live in Elmore County. We hope to soon move in the Holtville community. We have two sons, two daughters-in-law and a grandson. I will be happy to show you pictures!

I am excited about being a part of the Leadership team at Holtville Middle School. Together, Mr. Jackson, Mrs. Terrell, Mrs. Tew , Mrs. Shields, and I bring a wealth of knowledge, compassion and love for the students. I am excited to see what great things can happen in the lives of our students. “GO BULLDOGS”.
