Dear Parents and Students, Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year at Holtville Middle School. As the new principal it is with great honor and pride that I join our dedicated faculty, parents and students to begin a new school year. My name is Tremeca Jackson and I am the new principal at Holtville Middle School. Although I am new to Holtville Middle School, I am not new to the Holtville community. Prior to coming to Holtville Middle School I was the assistant principal at Holtville High School for four years. I also served as the assistant principal at Lowndes County Middle School, and taught third grade for five at Wetumpka Elementary, as well as fifth grade in Montgomery County. I am married and live in Montgomery. My husband is a District Sales Manager with Montgomery Advertiser. We have one wonderful daughter named Taelor, who will be in the second grade at Holtville Elementary this school year. As a parent, I send my child to school with the intention that she will be treated with respect and will be in a safe and caring environment. As an educator, I will make every effort to ensure that every child is treated with respect and is safe at school. I intend to make decisions based on what is in the best interest of all children. I will proceed in all situations with the best interest of the whole child foremost in my mind. I am confident that you and your children will enjoy being at our school. The middle school years provide a challenging and exciting learning opportunity for students. At HMS, we are all in agreement that our mission is to teach children not only academic skills but interpersonal skills as well. Academic, social, and emotional well-being will be fostered at Holtville Middle. The faculty will provide a rigorous academic program, enriching extracurricular activities and high expectations for all. We will guide students toward personal responsibility and the decision making skills they will need to function in society. Our school will be a warm, caring, and safe environment where boys and girls can work diligently, achieve academic success, and show courtesy to peers and to all school personnel. We believe that all can achieve and that our students, faculty, and staff will strive to do their "Best". I look forward to getting to know each of you as we work together to guide your child towards life long learning and achievement. Please accept this letter as the first step towards establishing a strong and effective working relationship between your home and my office. My door is always open! I know that by working together we can make this a successful year for you and your children. For the children, Tremeca Jackson
